Vitamin Angels is Live on Rootstock Cloud ERP

ERP implementation enables Vitamin Angels to scale operations, improve efficiency and reach more beneficiaries worldwide

San Ramon, CA (March 11, 2020) – Malnutrition is the number one cause of preventable child deaths[i]—and it is Vitamin Angels’ mission to end this plight worldwide by providing life-changing vitamins and minerals to undernourished pregnant women and children under the age of five. Recently, this global non-profit received a boost in its ability to fulfill its mission by implementing Rootstock’s Cloud ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Rootstock Software is a leading provider of ERP solutions built on the Salesforce platform and designed for manufacturing, distribution and supply chain organizations.

“In the past five years, we experienced tremendous growth. In just 2019, we provided vitamins to over nearly 70 million mothers and children in more than 70 countries around the world, including all 50 U.S states,” said Bonnie Forssell, CFO at Vitamin Angels. “With our new ERP, we’ll be able to scale our operations and function more efficiently, so we can continue to reach even more at-risk mothers and children—while at the same time, using fewer resources.”

Rootstock Cloud ERP helps us logistically track product shipments from our 15 warehouses to more than 1,600 field partners around the world,” said Shelly Gralewski, CRM Program Director at Vitamin Angels. “We also achieve greater transparency with timely, in-depth reporting, which allows us to share key information with our donors and field partners.”

“We’re thrilled to work with an organization like Vitamin Angels and support its mission to end childhood malnutrition,” said Pat Garrehy, CEO of Rootstock Software. “We understand that as a nonprofit, Vitamin Angels strives to get the most value from its donations and to achieve the greatest return for its beneficiaries. Toward this end, our Cloud ERP will provide significant savings and operational benefits.”

As part of its streamlined approach, Vitamin Angels wanted to go live as soon as possible. “We actually completed implementation in just six months. It went quickly and smoothly because we were prepared with fully documented system requirements and use cases,” said Forssell.

“We had been using Salesforce for years. Now, with CRM and ERP on one platform, these functions work efficiently together. We can manage donors, field partners, beneficiary needs, purchased and donated inventory, and distribution all from one login. As a next step, we will integrate our accounting system with our ERP and CRM. There’s a huge advantage in having a 360-degree view of service and operations,” said Forssell.

“The greatest benefit in having a new ERP is our ability to make critical decisions in real time about where our products are allocated, especially as the global needs change. We’re delighted to have access to timely data from the field, so we know with just a few clicks how we’re progressing toward reaching our goals in each country throughout the year,” added Forssell.
