Rootstock Software Announces CPQ Manufacturing Connector for Salesforce CPQ

CPQ to Manufacturing Link for Engineer-to-Order & Configure-to-Order Manufacturers

San Francisco, CA – (Thursday, September 27, 2018) – Rootstock Software, a leading cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider for manufacturing, distribution and supply chain organizations on the Salesforce Platform, today announced at Dreamforce 2018 a new application for Engineer-to-Order and Configure-to-Order Manufacturers called the CPQ Manufacturing Connector. The connector bridges the gap between the configuration, pricing and quoting (CPQ) process in Salesforce CPQ and downstream manufacturing and ERP processes for companies producing highly personalized or configured items.

“The trend toward more personalized and customized products is causing manufacturers to introduce more Engineer-to-Order and Configure-to-Order workstreams,” said Pat Garrehy, CEO of Rootstock. “Quoting tools that are separated from these manufacturing streams can cause process efficiency issues and downstream manufacturing problems that increase cycle times and reduce responsiveness to customers, especially in personalized or custom production environments. We have connected Salesforce CPQ with our manufacturing and inventory capability all on one cloud platform to help solve this problem for manufacturers.”

The CPQ Manufacturing Connector creates a more streamlined process from quote generation through the entire business cycle including: production, pick, pack, ship and billing. Quotes and estimates in Salesforce CPQ can be turned into Rootstock ERP sales orders with one click. This kicks off work orders and the manufacturing process using the unique bill of materials, labor allocations and routings for that item – as determined by the unique configuration and manufacturing requirements. Quotes can include other standard products and services contracts on the same sales order. Personalized product choices flow directly into production. This entire process is conducted on the Salesforce Platform, providing manufacturing companies increased efficiency, faster cycle times, quicker deliveries, less re-work and more visibility across sales, operations and finance.
