Rootstock Software® Continues to Enhance Already Robust SaaS Manufacturing Solution

Additional Production Engineering Capabilities Added to Rootstock Solution to Support Mid-Market Manufacturers

SAN RAMON, Calif, March 15, 2010 – Rootstock Software®, leading Software as a Service (SaaS) manufacturing solution provider to the mid-market, announced today that new capabilities are now available in its latest product release.  These new product enhancements within the Rootstock Software® Production Engineering module provide additional capabilities resulting in improved visibility, operational efficiencies and cost savings for mid-market manufacturers.

Production Engineering enhancements include a Bill of Material Mass Add that enables the addition of multiple components to the Bill of Material (BOM) at one time that can be run in the background for improved efficiency.  Users also now have the ability to create commodity code settings that automatically assign multiple fields/attributes in multiple item master records (Engineering Item Master Record, Purchasing Item Master Record, etc.) which cuts down redundant work and improves consistency between records.

Decimal precision has also been enhanced to now go to up to 8 decimal places for the most precise unit of measure calculations.  These can override commodity code setting at any time due to unique requirements of any item that results in improved material usage and costing capabilities throughout the manufacturing process.

Also now included is MRP Override to Bill of Material that enable overrides on the bill of material so the user can require additional material for scrap, set up and phantom requirements.  This improves the quality of the material forecasting and planning, improved operational efficiency on the shop floor, and improved costing accuracy of exactly what material is required.
